Disclosure: I received a copy of THE BIBLE Series on Blu-ray for review purposes. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own. For more info. see my Disclosure Policy.? Roma Downey, Mark Burnett, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, HISTORY Channel, Christian movies

From Executive Producers Mark Burnett (The Voice, THE BIBLE ? an epic 10-hour miniseries debuting on History? March 3, and coming to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD April 2 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Survivor) and Roma Downey (Touched by an Angel) comes THE BIBLE ? an epic 10-hour miniseries debuting on History? March 3, and coming to Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD April 2 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Featuring hours of never before seen behind-the-scenes footage and making-of featurettes in a stunning high bit rate HD transfer and immersive 5.1 audio, THE BIBLE is the must-own Blu-ray and DVD event of the year. The Blu-ray and DVD exclusively feature an all-new cut of the miniseries featuring more of the stories you know in ways you?ve never seen.

The four-disc Blu-ray and DVD set dives deeper into the making of the series and features a behind-the-scenes look at how the groundbreaking docudrama came together. Interviews with producers, directors, and cast illustrate creative collaboration on-set and off and show how the remarkable Moroccan scenery was transformed into the world of the Bible.??

When they describe THE BIBLE miniseries as epic, it is definitely worthy of that title.? It's a monumental task to bring viewers through the vast history of the Bible from creation to Christ!? There are many movies that have tried to bring the Bible to life, but this mini-series is definitely on a grand scale.???

During its run on tv, THE BIBLE propelled HISTORY channel to #1 in all of television from 8-10PM Sunday nights with 95 million cumulative viewers.? Amazing!

It is a bit odd to hear a Scottish brogue on Noah and to hear other actors with European accents play Middle Eastern people.? But, if you look past some of the more awkward moments and look at the content, it is very captivating.??

I was especially moved by the New Testament episodes.? The actor who plays Jesus feels genuine; his soft spoken words and gentle mannerisms are just what you might imagine Jesus to be.?? From his birth, the crowds following him, the disciples spending time with him to the cross scene, you feel as if you are on a journey along with Jesus.

?My teenage son was skeptical when he saw that it was a History Channel series; he thought that it would be a boring documentary.? We weren't able to watch all the episodes on tv when they aired. But we've been watching many of the episodes together over the past week and it's really captured his attention.?
?
THE BIBLE will definitely open up dialogue and engage people in conversation.? I think it's a great tool to familiarize people with the Bible and get them thinking:? Did these events actually happen the way it was portrayed?? What does the Bible actually say??? What do I believe?? It certainly has sparked some good conversations with my teenager.

?

There are some very intense and often violent scenes throughout the series.? I don't want to give anything away for those who haven't watched, but it is definitely not for younger children.?? There were even moments that I as an adult was a bit taken aback.? I recommend ages? 13-14+ for those reasons. ??
