USM campus reopens days after tornado strikes

The University of Southern Mississippi campus was to reopen Wednesday, even while cleanup continues from a tornado that damaged several buildings on campus.

An EF4 tornado struck the Hattiesburg area Sunday, damaging at least six buildings on campus, including the Alumni Center. Several trees, some of which were more than 100 years old, were leveled by the storm.
