The Archive Browser Adds a Robust Feature Set to the Already Popular Unarchiver

The Archive Browser Adds a Robust Feature Set to the Already Popular UnarchiverOS X: We chose The Unarchiver as our favority archive utility for OS X, but it offers a limited feature set. If you're willing to pay a few dollars, you can purchase The Archive Browser instead. It's a separate utility based on the Unarchiver's code, but offers additional features like?you guessed it!?archive browsing and quick file previews.

If you prefer to view the contents of a ZIP, RAR, StuffIt, or whatever archive before you extra, you'll want to check out this app. The Archive Browser simply shows you the contents of virtually any compressed file archive, allows you to preview the contents with QuickLook, and also offers up useful statistics about the archive itself and the files it contains. OS X hasn't ever offered an archive browsing option, opting only to decompress. For the most part this isn't an issue, but sometimes you want a little more control. If you're okay with the $4 price tag, that control can be yours. We'd like to see archive creation options added as well, but with a name like Archive Browser that may not be in the cards.
